5 Hair Trends to Watch Out For in 2022 According to Fashion Experts
December 17, 2021In the last year with the lockdowns, we’ve embraced our hair in all its natural state at home. But with 2022 fast approaching, fashion runways for spring 2022 have given us a peek on hair trends we can expect the next year. If 2021 was all about natural and no fuss hair at home, 2022 takes it up notch to add that little extra kick to it. Read on to know the trends to spot next year.
1. All Braided-Up
Seems like braids are here to stay. From the Altuzarra’s 90’s inspired face-framing braids to Thom Browne’s braid buns as seen on the runway, little twists and turns can get your locks looking stylish in an instant. Plus, braids are so flexible. Depending on how you braid it, you can find a fitting braid for different occasions, whether formal events or even just for your workout.

2. Texture Teases
Make your everyday look even better with some texture. Whether you have tons of layers or you’re sporting a lob, adding some texture to your locks goes a long way. From textured baby hair, finger waves to embracing the curls, both disheveled to sleek textured styles were spotted in different forms. What’s great about this style is how natural it looks without being too over the top, quite akin to a day after look. Check out our styling collection to get your day-after styles.

3. The Mid-part Chic
Several TikTok debates between Millennial’s side part vs. Gen Z’s middle part has been circulating around online. And the runway has spoken: it’s the middle part, everyone. Suiting all lengths and textures, the middle part took over the runway - from Hermes’ French girl styles to Chanel’s 80’s chic middle parted ‘dos.
4. Sleek and Straight
Wipe off the dust on your flat iron, because this trend will get that iron heated up to life. The classic sleek and pin straight ‘do has graced us with its presence on the runway in different styles. We’re loving the variety: Versace’s Y2k vibe half slicked back and half straightened down to Sergio Hudson’s take on the classic sleek and straight hair we know of.

Don’t have much time on your hands? This hair trend will be your newest bff: hair accessories. With Y2K looks resurfacing back with a vengeance, various fashion powerhouses paired the model’s locks with some accessories, and we’re here for it. From the schoolgirl inspired monochromatic clips from Alice + Olivia, embellished barrettes from Tom Ford, and headscarves from Anna Sui and KNWLS, hair accessories were all over the runway.
